“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations…”
The Richtersveld Wilderness Camp is approximately 685km from Cape Town and 1200km from Jhb. On the N7 at Vioolsdrift, just before the border post entrance, turn left (to Kotzeshoop) and follow the gravel road for approximately 22kms to the Richtersveld Wilderness Camp. You do not require a 4×4 to reach our camp, however the gravel road from Vioolsdrift along the river and over the Geelkrans Pass is corrugated and stony in parts so please drive with due care and check that your tyres and spare wheel are in good order beforehand.
You can also reach our camp from Sendelingsdrift (via Eksteenfontein) and down through the scenic Helskloof Pass. This track can be very stony and sandy in parts so we suggest that only vehicles with 4×4 or with sufficient clearance use this route.
